One Word To Make Your Problems Seem A Gazillion Times Smaller

So often, hardships, struggles, frustration, and discouragement overwhelm us. And as a result all we see is the here and now, using all of our energy to get through the current challenge.

What if I told you, my sweet friend, that there was a way to make each and every problem you have, no matter how small or how great, seem as though it was entirely surmountable, utterly temporary, and even futile. And what if I told you that this solution was encapsulated in one single, beautiful word, that contained within it all the hope, purpose, beauty, and rest from trial that you would ever need.  <– Click to Tweet

That word, my friend, is Heaven.

I’ve been reading a precious children’s book titled, Christie’s Old Organ, to my children. In it I found such a glorious description of Heaven;

… in that bright city sorrow was never found.

No weeping there, no tears, no sighs, no trouble.

No tired feet on that golden pavement, no hungry ones there, no hot burning sun, no cold frost or snow.

No sickness there, and no death, no funerals in Heaven, no graves in the golden city.

Perfect love there, no more quarreling or strife, no angry tones or discordant murmurs, no rough voices to disturb the peace.

And all this forever and ever, no dread of it coming to an end, no gloomy fears for the future, no partings there, no good-byes.

Once there, safe forever.

At home, at rest, with God.

Doesn’t zeroing in on this place that truly no human words are fit to describe, make your problems seem a gazillion times smaller?

The Most Trustworthy Source

The most trustworthy source in helping to make your mountains into molehills is the infallible, inerrant, and irrefutable Word of God. Take these next moments to dwell on this place described in Revelation 4:2-11.

If you are a believer in Jesus, have repented of your sin, and trusted solely in the blood of God’s Righteous Son to be the access to eternity with Him, then the following scene which the Apostle John conveys, is a sight you will one day behold with your very own eyes!

At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne.

And he who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald.

Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments, with golden crowns on their heads.

From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God,

and before the throne there was as it were a sea of glass, like crystal.

And around the throne, on each side of the throne, are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind:

the first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight.

And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say,

Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty,

who was and is and is to come!

And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever,

the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

Worthy are you, our Lord and God,

to receive glory and honor and power,

for you created all things,

and by your will they existed and were created.

If you are alive on this earth at this very moment (which I’m assuming you are :-)), there is no doubt that you are undergoing some discomfort, difficulty, and distress.

Can this great king enthroned on High not deliver you from your trial?

Is His arm too short to save you from your crisis, or provide for your needs?

Does not His sovereign will rule your life and circumstances?

Your God, beloved, is mighty to save, and able to equip you for life and godliness.

There is never a day, until you reach that perfect place, during which it is not an invaluable exercise to think on Heaven, readjusting your perspective, reminding yourself of your fleeting existence, and restoring your vision of glorifying Him who reigns on the Throne.
